Biography

Elisa Sofia, filmmaker and photographer at heart, was born in Italy and has been citizen of the world from a very young age. A life full of study, work, experiences and travel, in which photography was her constant companion. She has worked in the Film Industry since 2015, and has been an Assistant to directors and producers, some Oscar winners, such as: Steven Zaillian, Pete Segal, Antoine Fuqua, Andrew Scott, Mike Pruss and many others. She recently has wrapped the production The Resurrection of the Christ by Mel Gibson as 3rd AD Cast. 

She herself is a director, photographer, creator, editor and producer, with one eye on the camera and the other observing the world around her. She has received various awards for her work from international film festivals. For more info, click on the section Indie Projects of this website. 

Her photographic work has been traveling all over Europe: Florence at the DanteBus Gallery (October 2024), Athens and Rome for the ArtNumber23 Galleries in December 2024 and February 2025. And Barcellona and Venice in April and May 2025 for ITS LIQUID gallery.

Elisa Sofia graduated from prestigious American and Italian universities. She graduated at School of Visual Arts with a Masters in Directing in NYC. She earned an MFA in Film and Television Production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts with the Annenberg Scholarship in Journalism in Los Angeles. Later Elisa Sofia obtained her third MA in Dramaturgy and Screenwriting from Accademia Nazionale D'Arte Drammatica “Silvio D'Amico”, a prestigious Italian Academy in Rome.
